Sure, it helps a load of people, but a lot of people watching will say 'why are my taxes helping those foreigners while I'm poor? Charity begins at home'.
Those people need to hear that US Aid is a very high return-on-investment for national security (far higher than any military spending). It was created to prevent the USSR gaining a foothold in a lot of places, now it does (did) a similar job with respect to Putin's Russian Empire and China.
They also need to hear about how US Aid stabilises food prices in the USA by buying surpluses, which avoids regular boom and bust cycles for farmers. Without US Aid, food prices in the USA would be a lot less predictable and a lot of small famers would go out of business making it easier for cartels to put prices up.
Oh, and they should probably hear about how US Aid helps contain disease outbreaks. Even the extreme people who would be happy if everyone outside the USA died are probably happy when things like Ebola outbreaks are kept in their country of origin, rather than becoming pandemics.
