I've started posting on LinkedIn all the unconstitutional shit Trump and Musk are doing to undermine the security and integrity of our government. Mainly because that crowd needs to hear it most. It's incredible how many people in the infosec space are still defending the actions of DOGE and its dear leader(s). And they're not all crypto bros and AI peddlers; we're talking about people in some pretty important roles, tech-wise.

But at least when they reply with the inevitable "stay in your lane" or "I used to like you when you stayed out of politics," they are on record as complicit and totally okay with what is going on.

Here's one of but many examples.
Meant to mention that Rich is the director of cyber risk for Capital One.
@briankrebs I mean, Wired often puts their "hyperbole" in quotes attributed to named sources, who happen to be Federal contractors with armies of cleared staff. Don't you?

@briankrebs I think this should be advertised, as I have Capital One accounts.

I shall now consider removing those accounts.

context for Boosts:
Mr Beamer is director of cyber risk at Capital One

Infosec Exchange
@ShrikeTron @briankrebs interestingly I stopped using them *years* ago (late 90s or early 2000s), as like many USA financial services companies they had less customer service and pushed back at financial protection regulations the EU and UK implemented...

@vfrmedia @briankrebs Interesting as I had savings in Orange that was then merged into Capital One.

Nothing dramatic, but not safe enough now.

I can still hear those "what's in your wallet" commercials…

@briankrebs also extremely useful in knowing which credit card to avoid

@briankrebs

Is my Capital One card at risk due to security threats? This guy doesn't give me much confidence.

I'm sure my friends would love to hear about it. I mean we all enjoy the Capital One lounges but I don't know...

@briankrebs big „Rich Beamer“ energy
@briankrebs wired hyperbole suggests wireless hyperbole
@briankrebs Imagine thinking a military supplier is too liberal?

@briankrebs

“IMO” - it’s all about their “opinions”, particularly when something isn’t a matter of opinion, it’s a matter of FACT.

They simply don’t understand the difference between opinions and facts.

“Typical Wired hyperbole IMO.” – Rich Beamer

@briankrebs so reporting on the simple fact that the InfoSec experts at the US Treasury have deemed DOGE an insider threat is “hyperbole” coming out of Wired, not hyperbole coming from the US Treasury InfoSec, so says a Trump fanboy who manages InfoSec at the Capital One corporation.

We truly live in a post-fact nation: all facts are “opinions,” the opinions with the most money behind them are “The Truth.” Evidence has nothing to do with it.

It started by disregarding basic science on evolutionary theory, then disregarding science on the environment and pollution, then disregarding science about modern medicine of vaccines, then disregarding the phenomenon of transgender people, then disregarding even basic germ theory during COVID-19.

Now they have leveled-up to disregarding technical expertise on basic information security.

@briankrebs They ain't gonna stop until they bump into someone they can't identify out of a lineup lets 'em know in no uncertain way that there will be consequences if they keep doing what they're doing. Mens restrooms make a good point of intercept. FInd out their favorite bars, wait for them to take a whaz. Then put 'em facefirst into the wall while you whisper in their ear. Bonus points if you can catch 'em in front of a tallboy urinal. Smaller men can get their arms pinned if you do it right
@briankrebs A guy named Wealthy BMW shouldn't be casting aspersions of hyperbole.
@briankrebs you would think that a group that deliberately named themselves after a parody cryptocurrency would not even being acknowledged, let alone given access to anything.
