This morning, economist Paul Krugman came right out and said it: “People close to Trump are trading based on national secrets.” Another word for that, he said, is “treason.” The evidence for such a claim is the sudden and isolated jump in trading volume in S&P 500 and oil futures about 15 minutes before Trump suddenly announced that the U.S.
‘Today, at the Palm Beach airport, a reporter asked Trump: “If the war is ending, do you still need $200 billion?” Trump answered: “We, ah, it’s always nice to have. It’s always nice to have. It’s a very inflamed world.”’

Democratic lawmakers have stormed out of a closed-door briefing on the Jeffrey Epstein files by Justice Department leaders, and say they will push to force Attorney General Pam Bondi to answer questions under oath about the case. Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche went to Capitol Hill on Wednesday to try to quell bipartisan frustration over the Justice Department’s handling of millions of files related to Epstein’s sex trafficking investigation. Republicans on the committee dismissed the move by Democrats as political grandstanding, said Bondi and Blanche had been answering “substantiative questions,” and that Bondi said she would follow the law regarding her subpoena.

Even though Donald Trump went to war in Iran, arguably according to at least some commentators and even a Republican congressman, to distract from the Epstein Files, we have not forgotten about them or about the survivors who deserve justice.
