We still have a ton of work to do, and I’ll have more to say about that as the week progresses, but after 20 months of working on this thing, it feels great that everyone can finally see it:

Tapestry

Weaving your favorite blogs, social media, and more into a unified and chronological timeline.

Tapestry
@chockenberry Congrats on the launch! Bought a sub even before trying out the app! You guys rock!
@theevildonut Thanks! Hope you enjoy it as much as we all hope!

@chockenberry

@atpfm

I’m thinking this might have the functionality of the app @siracusa was talked out of writing during an aftershow?

@chockenberry @atpfm @siracusa

No! It was ATP Diamond Dogs: Talk me out of It, 15 months ago!

@chockenberry Loving it! Just curious if you plan to let us reply? I know that would turn it into more of a social media client to some extent, but it just feels a bit of a hassle to need to find it on Bluesky/Mastodon THEN reply rather than straight from the app…

Cool app though!! Love the design so much

@j4ck That’s the more work/info I was taking about. More to come later…
@chockenberry Amazing work, loving the UI and how easy it is to manage and add feeds. KS reward unlock was super easy too.

@WWLAladdinSane Thanks! Make sure to tap on the app icon in credits 😉

More about that later this week!

@chockenberry I wonder how shall I add Mastodon when the button is always disabled
@igorkulman Is there an extra space or new line in there? Something is making the text an invalid URL.
@chockenberry yes there was an extra space at the end. But it was not visible, when I delete it or add more extra spaces the text does not "move" in the input.
@igorkulman Yep. Going on the bug list now 😉
@chockenberry Congrats on the launch! Insta-subscribe for me. Am I missing something obvious or is there no way to change the font size yet?

@niclindh Thanks! The text uses the Dynamic Type setting which can be customized per app, if needed.

@chockenberry @Iconfactory You people rock! Your apps rock.(Spinner Spins currently at 29 after zapping the PRAM)

@fab1An @Iconfactory More Easter Eggs to come later this week!

Including some that others on the team don’t know about yet 😉

@chockenberry congrats on the launch!
And just 2 quick things: I believe there are 2 almost identical screenshots in the French App Store and that the yearly subscription is not 20% as advertised
But great work to go the app out of the door and looking forward what’s to come.

@NoodlesNinja Yep, that’s a problem outside the US. It’s already fixed and will be in the 1.0.1 release.

Thanks for the bug report and kind words!

@chockenberry

Is there a way I can change the font size on the Mac app?

@kleids No, unfortunately. macOS doesn’t have Dynamic Type.

And my old eyes know exactly how much this sucks.

@chockenberry
Good to know thanks.

Either way this app is a game changer for me. Thanks for making it!

@kleids @chockenberry Is the Mac app the iPad app? I couldn't find a Mac app...

@chockenberry fantastic, congratulations! I’ve subscribed.

Love the concept and implementation. Muffles (great name) and connectors are cool.

I find the coloured cards design too noisy. Please add more appearance options 🙏

Perhaps the System Font should also be a free option…?

@lukesweeney More themes are likely, but they are a lot harder to make than you think, and as you note, very personal. @gedeonm did them for Twitterrific, so we know what we're up against and decided to forego them in the 1.0 release.

As far as SF being a free option: it complicates the premium pitch that customizing is a paid feature.

@chockenberry Congrats on the launch. My first impression is that this is incredibly well put together to the point that it doesn't feel like an initial 1.0 release in a good way. Heck, even the ads are beautiful! I think my favorite part, though, is the little squares at the top of the timeline that show feed loading progress. They’re just brilliant!

I'm very interested to hear more about future plans re: Replying to some feed types. A huge challenge I'm sure!

@Ragashingo Thanks for the kind words - we're super happy with how 1.0 came together!

But yeah, there will be more: https://blog.iconfactory.com/2025/02/enter-tapestry/

Enter Tapestry • The Breakroom

We’ve been making apps for decades and have acquired the skills to build all sorts of great things. But even talented teams can be challenged, and our latest product has been the hardest yet. I’m talking about Tapestry. It’s taken ten months since 3,369 folks agreed that the idea of putting all the things you follow […]

Iconfactory Blog
@chockenberry today must be a national Ollie-day for you folks at @Iconfactory then, right?I already subscribed and imported several OPML files, nothing else to report so far. Congratulations!
@jzilske No bugs found on launch day is the developer's dream. Thanks!
@chockenberry Congrats to the entire team on the launch! Thanks for all the hard work.
@chockenberry congratulations on the launch. Did you guys just make the nicest BlueSky client ever while making the nicest client for a hundred other services/sites?
@chockenberry big congratulations! I seem to be getting error pulling my feed from my mastodon instance though 😅
@via That's a known issue (which we're unable to reproduce). For now, turning off “Mentions From Others" works around the error. And thanks!
@chockenberry Appreciate the workaround! if you'd like to I can give you a test account on my instance for you to repro with?

@via It appears to be a problem with mention notifications not having a status property.

Everyone who's reported it has been on a smaller instance, but it might be some kind of problem with federation. Or a server setting. Or ???

Is there something on your server that might cause the missing status? Like a privacy setting or something like that?

@chockenberry As far as I know, no... I do have one recent mention that was a private mention but as far as I know if I'm trying to view it from an auth’d endpoint it shouldn't be null…

@via Do you have any filters on the timelines? Someone reporting a problem with this turned on:

Eduardo (@[email protected])

In case anyone is following this here, the issue seems to be my language filters (under Mastodon‘s Settings, go to Preferences->Other->Public Timelines->Filter languages), I had it set up so that only posts in Spanish, German, and English appear. This messes up the connector somehow, as soon as I unchecked all, saved my settings, and refreshed Tapestry, my feed was filled with posts. Works for now, but I’d like to set the filters again someday :) Anyway, I replied to the ticket I created too @[email protected]

Mastodon.cr
@chockenberry aha! I do remember something like this. I think I filter for English Chinese and Japanese. Maybe that’s it?
@chockenberry Congratulations on the release! 🎉
@box464 Thanks! It’s been quite a day 😁

@chockenberry Are you planning to add an option for round avatars. I know it's a minor priority as it's just cosmetic, but I never really likes those squircles. Round or rounds rectangles are a bit more eye pleasing. 😉

And just to say the good things: Congrats on the launch. Tapestry is quite impressive. Sometimes even a bit owerwhelming with all those sources. 😁

@vonStein It's harder than you think - a lot of avatars use transparency (especially favicons on RSS feeds). They look _really_ weird with a round avatar.

Round rects might be an option, but that's up to @gedeonm

And thanks for the kind words!

@chockenberry Congrats! Excited to check it out.

What's the story behind the app having a Juneau icon?

@amoeba Question for @gedeonm who comes up with the names. And thanks!
