Did the prices of Microsoft 365 Family and Personal just go up in the U.S.? I thought these were $99.99 and $69.99? (It's been a while so maybe I'm off.)

@thurrott Yeah, they increased the price not too long ago. I think that I read that they added Copilot to it to force people to pay for it. I also read that there is a secret, hidden "classic" plan that is cheaper.

@thurrott They definitely went up your memory is not faulty.
@thurrott This appears to be brand new but it's on paper that this new pricing is official worldwide as of today (and presumably changed earlier perhaps?). https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/switching-to-microsoft-365-personal-and-family-classic-plans-58342e83-38e7-4cda-b63b-88604a8fb7ef
Switching to Microsoft 365 Personal and Family Classic Plans - Microsoft Support

@thurrott My last year cost for 365 Personal was 69.99 and my scheduled April 2025 renewal is still showing 69.99.
@thurrott Already moved over to #LibreOffice and #iWork on my #Mac. I also synced all my emails locally for Outlook. Just need to do some inbox cleanup. Office apps just doesn't seem like an essential need anymore and AI is not a selling point for me personally.
@adacosta @thurrott I consider the iWork suite part of the cost justification of my 2 terabyte iCloud storage plan and the end-to-end document encryption makes it an overall better value for me as an Apple platform user.
@OneOkami I'm just using the 2.99 plan for 200 GBs and it pays for itself since I have HYSA through my Apple Card.
@thurrott My family plan in the United States renewed on Jan 3, 2025 at $99.99 + tax.
@thurrott Last renewal on 6/7/24 was $100 plus tax for Family
@thurrott I think you may be right.
