A bicycling story in 4 parts #broken #axle #BikeTooter
Question for the wrenching bicycle folks: so, what next on this? New hub? Replace the broken part of the hub? New wheel entirely? #BikeTooter #repair cc @ascentale @ericm @jfreebo @HayiWena (and all the much more experienced bike folk out there?)
Okay, hauled the entire wheel down to the LBS. They did not have the right axle, but they did have a solid axle that will fit. They did not have the right tool to remove the hub, except behind the bench, but could not remove the hub because no axle to clamp onto, LOL. They apparently refuse to fix axles there, but since they now know me went fishing for an axle that would fit. #BikeTooter #bikerepair #carryshitolynpics
Old broken axle. New solid axle but it's a bit long. Got new bearings since I'm in here. Getting the bearings in without removing the freewheel will be... interesting. #BikeRepair

@ai6yr
The grease and the oil seals will retain the balls.

You will want to replace the oil seals, the one you showed up-thread looks a bit stuffed.
