siri, explain me capitalism
@dosch @tinkebell (I boosted this photo without alt text, so I will explain the contents to my followers: it is a screenshot of a bluesky post saying nobody has the right to decide who has to live or die, since that's the duty of artificial intelligence).

@tinkebell Profits before people.

"Let them die and decrease the surplus population."

It won't end well.

Oh, I'm starting to think that maybe it will.

@tinkebell
Weird - ruthlessness is a positive virtue when turned on others it appears.
@Theriac It's good to see bad things happen to those who deserve it.

And maybe this murder brings about change for the better.

Cory Doctorow wrote:Murder is never the answer. Murder is not a healthy response to corruption. But it is healthy for people to fear that if they kill people for greed, they will be unsafe.

@tinkebell

So! No healthcare for you.

@tinkebell "...no matter how ruthlessly." This guy is an asshole and a sociopath, not that I needed this particular post in order to know that.
@MisterMoo @tinkebell
It's funny because that he thinks his shareholders duty is to pay HIM more

@tinkebell someone never read Robin Hood.

"Robbing from the rich" wasn't just about money

@tinkebell "Worlds Oldest Teenager Heckles Left To 'Grow The Hell Up' "

Stop the cringe first Elon, oh wait, you can't.

@tinkebell

Musk is begging to be next. Dude's got the most Thompsonable face imaginable

@tinkebell Methinks Elon has suffered a certain access of apprehension to notoriety.
@tinkebell Does maximizing shareholder value excuse killing people?
@glennsills @tinkebell great point! And withholding healthcare by making it too expensive, polluting the air and water and preventing action on global warming sure caused deaths.
@tinkebell Thing is, like the divine right of kings, there are folks who believe economic theory "proves" the person with more money is more useful. von Neuman and Morgenstern, in "Theory of Games and Economic Behavior" literally say "Money is Utility." It's insane, deranged, fatuous even, but it's the bedrock of "modern economics", and shit-for-brains like Musk and #DiaperDon and the #CouchFucker actually believe it.

@tinkebell

Turns out the shooter is a Musk fan, so. . . oh well.

@Phosphorous @tinkebell A lot of us used to be Musk fan four years ago, but this changed very rapidly when he started doing crazy stuff and it stood out he is an outright Nazi. #ApartheidKaren #SpaceKaren
@tinkebell Grok, write me a think piece on profit.
@tinkebell He's totally right about that. We need to stop pretending that insurance companies have any value to society.
@tinkebell "no matter how ruthlessly" part kills me. They're allowed to kill people because they needed to make more money 😑

@tinkebell

Dear Elon,

If you’re losing sleep over these average folks fighting back corporations ruthlessly maximizing profits, I suggest some reading.

Rousseau’s The Social Contract, maybe. It hasn’t been banned yet.

#Musk #UnitedHealthcare

@tinkebell he feels the guillotine overhead and he is obviously sweating
I am pretty sure that Musk’s big payout he was pushing for would have been at the expense of shareholders! What say he to that?? He is so full of shit. And, I say this as a guy who studied finance and worked within the industry. There are many other stakeholders outside of shareholders. Damn this timeline!
@tinkebell Reading The Corporation by Joel Bakan taught me that since the inception of corporations, intact human beings have known they have the potential to wield too much power.

@tinkebell Besides being an absolute piece of shit, Elon is also very wrong. Someone that wrong about the purpose of a corporation should not be an officer in one. That's a sure recipe for malfeasance.

@tinkebell Being told to "grow up" by Elon Musk is like being told to lose weight by Chris Christie.

@tinkebell “no matter how ruthlessly”

Is he trying to gain sympathy?? What a bizarre own goal

@tinkebell I love how brainchild there, who's LITERAL JOB it is to understand shareholders, doesn't know that shareholder value above all is bullshit.

@tinkebell The next time I want (or need) musk to explain something to me will be the first time.
@tinkebell
To the bottom of hell with insurance companies.
To the bottom of hell with their shareholders.
To the bottom of hell with laws that try to make evil a duty.
And to the bottom of the bottom of hell with #FelonMuskrat.
@tinkebell Elon is scared shitless that he could be next!

@tinkebell Musk is even more stupid than I thought him to be. Saying the quiet part about ruthlessness out loud is a rookie mistake.

It's not even double standard, it's that annoying far right doublethink where their ruthlessness is OK, and someone else's ruthlessness is somehow bad. They really believe that they are the masters, and we are destined to be their servants forever.

It's pointless to argue with them. They only speak and understand one language: violence.

@tinkebell this is true and a great factual argument against privatization of healthcare
@tinkebell Surely this is a parody. Even Musk can’t possibly be such a bellend.
@tinkebell
Musk is so smart he doesn't see that there's a teeny problem with this 'duty'.
@tinkebell link? or is it satire?

@tinkebell “Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement.”

"Umm. Gandalf? Are you talking about the guy who eagerly dealt out death for profit - or that dude who killed him?"

@tinkebell Musk: Our money is worth more than your lives, sit down and shut up.

Everyone else: Is it? Is it though?
