Problem is in the Consitution - Amendment 22 I believe. It would take 2/3 of the Congress to rewrite the constitution and it's impossible to happen . The question is whether he just thumbs his nose at it like he does with most things.

@WarnerCrocker The failure is in our educational system. These folks didn't have the grounding to see through Trump's lies. He told them what they wanted to hear, which is that it was someone else's fault and he would fix it. Using tariffs is simple, clear, and wrong.

@WarnerCrocker the proposed tarrifs won't go into place on Jan 6th.
They will be used as a bargaining tool with other countries to determine the tarrif increases they will levy upon us in return. According to people who follow tarrifs, new tarrifs won't go into effect for at least 9 months to a year after the new admin takes office.
The business owner didn't want to give out holiday bonuses and found a believable excuse.

My supposedly Christian relatives now go back to saying he's Christ in human form. You point out how Christ didn't give into temptations and they actively try to rewrite it. As we in the Netherlands (and more places in Europe) also struggle with an undesired shift to the extreme right, a few of us started thinking about a socio-economic system that hasn't all these bad properties as you mention as an alternative to the destructive hard capitlalistic neoliberal systems not repeating the socialist/communist experiments from the early 20th century. We shouldn't give up hope.
