@arstechnica These days, "conservative" means "smoke one or two joints, then order a tasty pizza".
Why mess with what works ?
😎

@arstechnica Nobody gets "sick" from THC. Yeah the results can be surprising if you're not expecting it and/or have no previous experience with it, but I've seen dogs get into people's stash, drank so much concentrated oil that they were stoned for more than two days, but otherwise were just fine.

Of course the children that got it... that's another story since it's still unclear of all the affects on growing minds. The adults who thought they needed an expensive trip to the hospital, though... sheesh.

@Shdwdrgn @arstechnica I got sick from eating too many pieces of THC gummy candies. Puked quite a bit.
@hyc @arstechnica Seriously? Sorry to hear that, I've never heard of that happening before. Are you sure you don't have some other condition that is exacerbated by the THC?
@Shdwdrgn @arstechnica no idea. I only ever tried once, never again.

@Shdwdrgn @hyc @arstechnica pretty sure it’s just a dosage thing for some of us. My first experience was half a cookie from old Berkeley hippies and I puked for… well I also lost my sense of time so, no idea 😅 it was a LOT though.

I eventually got up the courage to try again, more carefully, and it turns out 2.5mg - 5mg is very pleasant for me. I also get tipsy off half a cocktail, so I think I’m just super sensitive to intoxicants.

@Shdwdrgn @arstechnica A high dose of THC when you aren’t expecting it can (will?) absolutely put you into a state that makes you think you need to go to the hospital. High heart rate, dizziness/feinting, all can be symptoms and without knowing it was THC, would absolutely make someone think they’re having a serious health episode.
@kobra_ @arstechnica That almost seems like a good reason TO try some common drugs at least once. At least people would have the experience to compare to in case a situation like this happened. Now all these people who almost certainly never tried it before have had a hugely negative experience that they will trot out as "proof" that marijuana is bad.
@Shdwdrgn @arstechnica Haha, honestly, I’m not sure if that would work. Many people are so paranoid when it starts that even knowing it’s THC, they can still be hard to calm down. Of course, they likely took too much, but the unique reactions and symptoms seem to cause a panic attack-like reaction. Everyone’s different, and due to the scheduling, we don’t have good research beyond saying it’s unlikely to cause serious or long-term harm.
@kobra_ @arstechnica The first thing I ever tried was shrooms (Just because it happened to come up). My only concern was my stomach feeling like I needed to vomit, but that's just the way they are. I've never had a bad experience with anything, but some people are just wired to think everything is going to kill them, I guess.
@arstechnica Famous Yeti's went on to beg customers in the community, "Please stop ordering more pizzas. We are at capacity and booked up until Friday. They will *not* have cannabis oil in them. It was an *accident*, and it won't happen again."
@arstechnica ah yes, an oil bottle mixup. Because you need a bottle of THC oil on the oils shelf at your pizzeria. In case someone orders the THC pizza.
@arstechnica “In a statement on its website, Yeti's co-owner Cale Ryan said that police testing "confirmed that pizza had been sold with dough mistakenly prepared with Delta-9-contaminated oil. The oil accidentally used in the product originated from a shared storage space in the on-site cooperative commercial kitchen."”
@arstechnica Rofl… just *rofl 🤪
(How much clichee is allowed for reality?)
