DHH doesn’t like passkeys? That sounds like an endorsement of passkeys to me.
@rmondello I agree the experience isn’t perfect yet but it’s mind boggling, does he think password managers with (phishable) OTPs, used on websites that suck, is a great experience for the future?
@rmondello Does he not know you can scan a QR code with your iPhone to login « from a friend’s PC in a pinch »?
@rmondello Worse, he does and thinks typing a 32 random character string is a BETTER experience? I’m so confused
@rmondello I am still on the fence about passkeys but I love your work and your correct assessment of DHH.
@rmondello of course he hates them. They make things easier for the average person.
@rmondello He’s also a racist transphobe which tbh is way more notable than whatever blog post he just shitted out of his diseased brain.
@rmondello passkeys are complete trash (just like DHH)
@rmondello find someone who loves you the way Gruber loves DHH’s bullshit.
@rmondello That's a pretty good rule of thumb, but the things he's complaining about have been said by more reasonable people too.

@rmondello agree 100%. I’m also confused by his arguments because he implies part of the problem is the complexity of server side implementation yet I see that there is plenty of code and documentation for this from the FIDO Alliance.

Is there any substance to this angle of criticism?
