With the next #SteamNextFest is coming up soon, I'm playing some of the demos sitting in my library before it starts.

First: #CrossOverRollForInitiative. It's a TTRPG themed match 3 where you spend dice you match to use your character's weapons/spells to kill enemies literally attacking your character sheet. I liked the idea, but from I found the real time aspect of it meant I was either defending or matching not both.

#SunstoneWar is a tower defence game where you can pick up and carry everything: towers, path obstacles and even creeps.

It's a cool idea, and from the demo, it looks like a pretty casual TD. I didn't get a good sense of how hard the levels would get because it didn't look like tower upgrades were a thing. One of the demo levels did have fog of war in it, which I really disliked though.

#SaikyoRobots is what you get when you combine twinstick shmup combat with Pikmin followers, and a tiny bit of basebuilding.

The gameplay was fine, but not particularly exciting. I liked amassing a horde of robots to follow you, but I wouldn't say the different parts particularly complemented each other. Also, frustratingly, the upgrade selection was buggy, and would only show what one did most of the time.

#DevilsHideout is an old school point and click adventure game about a woman trying to save her sister from a group of cultists.

I think it could be good, but I think I just prefer my point and clicks to be funny or otherwise lighthearted rather than heavy like this.

#SoliumInfernum is a turn based strategy game about vying for control over hell. From the tutorial, the systems felt very board game-like, though I'll admit I'm not familiar with videogame 4X.

As with any games of this type, there are a ton of interconnected systems, and I just didn't see what a basic plan would look like because everything I wanted to do was too expensive. I think it's a game I'd learn from watching someone else

#TouhouArtificialDreamInArcadia is an oldschool dungeon crawler #RPG, I think like old school SMT. I think it's just not for me. The first person dungeon crawling I can get behind, and I'm always down for a shmup minigame, but collecting, fusing, and otherwise managing the clones is just not what I want in my RPGs.
