It was a mapo tofu type of day. The recipe from Justonecookbook.com is easy and all I needed to add was some green stuff in the shape of finely sliced Napa cabbage. 😋

Mapo Tofu (Mabo Dofu) (Video) 麻婆豆腐

Japanese-style Mapo Tofu (Mabo Dofu) is incredibly flavorful but a lot less spicy than the Sichuan version. It‘s simple, quick & easy, too!

Just One Cookbook
@sylkeweb I put Just One Cookbook in the same category as Recipe Tin Eats. Some top notch recipes on there, and it definitely lifted my Japanese cooking game with some of the concepts in the more obscure recipes
Yes, I learnt so much from the JOC site, it‘s a brilliant resource. The only thing I have to be careful about is the amount of sugar, it‘s quite a lot sometimes. I haven’t looked at Recipe Tin Eats for a while, maybe I should check that site more often 😅
@sylkeweb Nagi's cookbook is excellent, my ex bought it for me earlier this year, and I've gone and bought it for everyone else since, including mum 😆
@sylkeweb @sortius Nagi's mum has a nice section on r.t.e focused on Japanese basics that's not particular well known, but well worth checking out: https://japan.recipetineats.com/

@humpy @sylkeweb oh, nice. I didn't realise there was even that section!
I remember seeing this layout before so I’ve definitely been there but at some point I simply started using the JOC website as my starting point for searches. I guess I need to stop doing that 😅
