You may have already noticed the difference between Mastodon users and those on Xitter.
For example, I've just read seventeen other replies to your introductory post, and in relation to your work and being 'deaf', the comments seem to be somewhere between 'supportive of' and 'interested in' your work.
But had this been Xitter, at least one idiot would have typed in ALL CAPS SO YOU MIGHT HEAR THEM!
