Pearl is easily the GOAT of this series.

Movie #66: Blade Runner 2049
Movie #67: Ready or Not

Movie #68: The Instigators

It’s like every actor asked ā€œwhat’s my motivationā€ and they were told ā€œI don’t know, the script says you do it, so just roll with it.ā€

Movie #69 (nice): I Saw the TV Glow

Movie #70: The Abyss

And thus completes my Cameron list of shame…well, besides Piranha II, but I'm not holding myself to that šŸ˜‚

I guess it's nice that this job probably made a few people eligible for health insurance for the year 😬

Really conflicted about this one.

Movie #90: Inception
Movie #91: The Matrix Resurrections

A real contender for worst movie I've watched this year, save for 30 minutes in the middle which is some of the best horror you can get.

Movie #93: It’s What’s Inside

Movie #94: Woman of the Hour

Too exhausted to do a full review 🫣

Movie #95: Salem’s Lot (2024)

Movie #96: New Life

Also I could be mistaken, but the main character is never in the suit shown in the poster during the whole movie…

Movie #97: Doctor Sleep

Getting close to that 100th movie milestone!

Movie #98: LƩon The Professional

Alas, a movie I really enjoy made by a guy who may not find the creepiness in the story to actually be creepy 😬

Movie #99: Saturday Night

Movie #100: The Substance

Hell yeah, I love when the 100th movie is an absolute banger ✨

Movie #101: Alien: Romulus

It feels good to just plain like an Alien move again šŸ™

@matt Maybe I need a rewatch.

I remember it feeling father daughter to me.

Also one of the all time Oldman performances. Stansfield is just unhinged.

@ravi Yeah Oldman is great and the rest of the cast kills it.

Apparently Besson dated a 15 year old in his 30s and this story is inspired by their relationship. She had their baby at 16 😬 Maybe it’s not as big a deal in French culture, but it’s hard not to think about with how Natalie Portman is portrayed in some moments.

@matt oh man!!! Perhaps the ratings name are weird but … can’t believe you didn’t Like this one!!! Freaking great movie

@tchaten What did you love about it? In curious!

FWIW everyone seems to think ā€œdecentā€ means I hated the movie with the heat of 1,000 suns šŸ˜‚šŸ˜ ā€œHow’d you like that movie?ā€ ā€œIt was decent! Didn’t love it, didn’t dislike it, it was decent.ā€

@matt since decent is in between didn’t like it and liked it, I guess I could see how people might think in degrees. Being below liked it could mean it was bad but decent doesn’t mean that. In the end, I figure decent means worth watching so that’s not bad.

@tchaten

@Ronnie @tchaten That’s definitely my intent with the rating. Like if someone asked me if they should watch a movie, something I said is ā€œdecentā€ would get a ā€œgo for itā€ from me.

But this has been a challenge for me for years lol. This score was called ā€œokayā€ for a long time and that gave a negative impression as well. Maybe it’s because it’s on the left side of the list and therefore is on the ā€œbadā€ side?

Scoring systems are hard šŸ˜…

@matt I watched the 1979 version this weekend. It was cheesy, long (3 hours), but I would give it a decent
@matt The Indonesian one is amazing. I thought Slumber Party Alien Abduction was good until the bit at the end with the poor dog. That ruined it for me.
@Granneman Yeah, I don’t know what it is, but I really find dead pets in movies distasteful.

@matt The cool thing about the Matrix movies that each are different genress: The Matrix - Sci-fi action thriller Reloaded - Sci-fi action superhero(?) movie Revolutions - Sci-fi war movie Ressurections - Sci-fi romantic comedy (that’s both romantic and a comedy).

Ressurections genre change is more abrupt than the others (it’s not really action anymore), but I really love that one too. They’re my favourite movie series of all time.

@torb For sure! I think all 3 sequels are better than many give them credit for, and the ideas in each are brilliant, I just don't think they ever reached the heights of ideas + execution that they nailed in the first.

But I totally love the series too!

@matt It’s like you hate me or something.

I actually agree with your rating, you just used a dirty word in it. 😜

@ChrisLawley @matt please dads stop fighting
@nileane @matt šŸ˜‚
@ChrisLawley @nileane I can’t help if this movie was a serious…mood…is that any better? šŸ˜…
@matt @nileane Much better. šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø
Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F (2024) ⭐ 6.5 | Action, Comedy, Crime

1h 58m | R

IMDb
@matt I really liked it!
What did you think about the final dialog? I was discussing with some friends whether that was *the* correct recollection or just another crazy theory like the ones we saw Clooney’s character create during the movie.
@rmaraujo You know I hadn’t really thought about it that way. I had assumed it was all very real, but I’ll noodle on it a bit now.
@matt One of your favorite Apple TV movies then? Can think of just a few obvious ones above it?

@tchaten Might be the first I’ve enjoyed at all šŸ˜…

Haven’t seen Coda, but yeah, finally!

@matt oh wow lol so Killers of a Flower Moon didn’t hit? You know next project turn those ratings into a searchable database lol
@tchaten Oh I forgot that was an Apple one…yeah that was better, one of my top films of last year.
@matt my wife and I watched it last night. I laughed out loud so many times. Such great writing and directing, both by Jon Watts. Very creative and fun!
@matt WHAT THE FUCK MATT?? Seriously? Again?
@ChrisLawley Spitting facts like always!
@matt is this streaming already?
@BenRiceM @matt It’s available for rent
@j_f @BenRiceM Looks like the physical version came out today too. I just assumed it was everywhere, but haven’t checked iTunes in forever
