Today I learned that the Alien franchise is owned by Disney, which means that every xenomorph egg that hatches, being a daughter of the xenomorph queen, is technically a Disney princess
Realising that the fact that Disney own Star Wars is talked about a lot, but the fact that Disney own literally every 20th Century Fox film is talked about less. Like... Rocky Horror Picture Show is a Disney film, kinda
oh man this doin numbers, check out my soundcloud or something idk
@julesh I've definitely heard people make the joke / point out the fact that Frank-N-Furter is technically a Disney princess somewhere around the intertubes. But yes, definitely more rare.
@lambdatotoro @julesh Blimey, now I can't even decide which Disney princess I like better. 😸
@julesh
Dr. Frank-n-Furter is a Disney Princess. TIL.

@julesh

I've heard that they own the Alien movies, too.

That makes the Alien Queen a Disney Princess.

@julesh I can attest that the Disney+ streaming platform has gotten a shit load of content over the past month or so. I didn't used to watch hardly anything on Disney, but now it's my go-to platform.
@julesh Dr. Frankenfurter is the first Transsexual Transvestite Disney Princess. Unless Mulan counts? But I think she was just in disguise.
@julesh Question is, where does Predator sit?
@julesh I remember there was some consternation about Disney buying Fox for RHPS related specific reasons: Disney likes its film vault and has expensive fees for small theaters to show old films. 20th Century loved their catalog staying in circulation and often had grandfathered very cheap contracts with small and indie theaters. Some theaters were paying basically pennies for their regular weekly/monthly midnight RHPS showings…

@julesh Disney did the expected thing and raised prices, then relented after some backlash, but in some cases too late after damaging decades of theatrical traditions and crushing the business models of the smallest and most independent theaters in a particularly bad time to do that.

Disney+ gets a lot of the focus of the blame for theaters dying, but Disney probably did most of its damage in buying 20th Century and changing its film catalog fees. I expect there will be interesting books on it.

@julesh (Also because Amazon did the same thing with MGM’s catalog, too just months apart. Streaming killed the theater, but not for all the reasons people think.)
@julesh Frank'n'Furter is a Disney Princess !! Dammit, Janet too !! And that make Brad and Rocky Disney Princes !
@julesh well, if Frank-n-Furter wasn't a princess, I'd be disappointed!
@julesh My princess exactly! Dr. Frank-N-Furter from The Rocky Horror Picture Show 😂

@julesh Don't they have to be the protag. to qualify? (Also, I think Disney maintains an official list of individuals now, instead of just a set of qualifications.)

I think Godzilla might be a Disney princess; she is female (lays eggs, so probably?) and royalty ("King of Monsters") and sometimes the protag.

@julesh I didn't find a Disney link, but https://mickeyvisit.com/disney-princesses/ is a fairly recent article (from a non-Disney source), and it says the official list is of individuals:

> What are official Disney Princesses?

> An official Disney Princess is a female character whom Disney has put on the official list and as part of the official franchise. Currently, these princesses include Snow White, Cinderella, Belle, Rapunzel, Tiana, Moana, Mulan, Ariel, Raya, Pocahontas, Merida, Aurora, and Jasmine.

@BoydStephenSmithJr @julesh Then I guess there's a difference between small-p and big-P princesses.

- For example, the characters from Frozen are small-p Disney princesses, but they're in their own Frozen toy line rather than big-P Disney Princess.
- Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Rabbit from Pooh, Easter Bunny from The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Judy Hopps from Zootopia are small-b Disney bunnies outside of the Bambi-spinoff Disney Bunnies toy line.

This parallels things like "small-c conservative" and "small-l libertarian" in politics.

@BoydStephenSmithJr @julesh It's not 100% unambiguous because there are so many different media, but generally Godzilla is taken to be male. (#Monsterdon could confirm)

Mothra is definitely female, but I'm not sure if she's royalty 🤷

@julesh Shush .. we'll have singing xenomorphs next, although maybe that would be an improvement over recent outings.
@julesh makes sense, they have so much love to give that they hug people face first.
@julesh Did you listened to the #maxfun SPY “10 things we love about Disney” bonus episode today too?
@julesh
Does Deadpool count as a Disney princess? 🤔
@julesh get out of here🤣
@julesh Technically correct, best kind of correct.
@julesh you mean princess Leia is technically a Disney princess?
@julesh Is this a recent ownership? Because that would explain why Disney World used to have a Alien attraction. @5ciFiGirl
@julesh my head canon for years. Ridley qualifies as a Disney Princess too (lead in a Disney feature, with heroic leadership qualities, saving her people from threat).
@drj ...and has (Xenomorph-) royal blood in heir vein by the time of JP Jeunet's "Alien Resurrection" (1997).
@julesh Deadpool is a Disney Princess. Fight me.
@julesh One of my favorite quotes is Xiran Jay Zhao's Mulan review, describing Mulan as "the Disney princess with the highest kill count (and she's proud of it too!)"

@julesh I believe this in turn means that you can use xenomorphs to summon kingdom hearts
@julesh Now that’s a Disney parade I would watch! 😆
@julesh ...unless the non-queen xenomorphs were all male/drones, in which case they would be Disney princes
Xenomorph XX121 (Alien)

Xenomorph XX121,[3][4] commonly referred to as simply the Xenomorph[5], known colloquially as the Alien, and classified as XX121, is a highly aggressive endoparasitoid extraterrestrial species. The Xenomorphs are vicious predatory creatures with no higher goals than the propagation of their species and the destruction of any life that could pose a threat to them. Like wasps or bees, Xenomorphs are eusocial, with a fertile Queen breeding a host of subordinate castes. The creatures are known for t

@julesh The only alien thing I care about is that orange cat in the first one.
@julesh Excellent. Perfect. No notes.
@julesh with a bit of AI-help, here's your xenomorph princess.
@julesh Can it be a real Disney princess without a theme song? (Then I thought about the great Rocky horror picture show and the fact that Frankenfurter has a theme song! Uh oh!)
