At least 22 of these county #election officials have refused or delayed #certification in recent years.

#Certification of #election results is what #legal experts consider a "ministerial task," & one required by state & local #law. But as #Trump's #lies about the #2020election have taken hold, #Republicans nationwide have decided that certification provides them an opportunity to hear fraud allegations - & refuse to officially count their local #votes. Republicans have refused to #certify election results at least 25 times since Trump lost the 2020 election to President Joe #Biden.

The fundamental definition of a truly democratic country is not FPTP, AV or electoral college method but is the unquestioning acceptance by all sides of the ballot box result. This requires a level of trust each and every party leader should foster in the self interest that defeat now will one day be defeat for the other party without question.

Right. It can't be close. It has to be a shutout. We can't just win. It's gotta be a first-round knockout. A sweep. Trump and the #Rapeublicans can't be allowed to get out of the single digits. Only then will we be able to silence the inevitable chorus of "It was rigged."
@Nonilex My prediction, based on what they’ve telegraphed since 2020, is that they intend to take power regardless of the election outcome, with three separate plans.
Plan A, they win. The easiest and most straightforward. Best chance of success.
Plan B, they declare the election was stolen just like last time, but this time with more concerted support by R states, congresspeople, and the Supreme Court. Violence will be a real possibility, unless the Ds flinch and let it happen. A moderate chance of success.
Plan C, an outright coup. If they have enough supporters in the right places, along with a large amount of citizen violence, it might work. Low chance of success, but I think they’ll try it anyway, because they feel it’s their right.
It would be extremely foolish for the current administration to not have people planning for this. We aren’t seeing any signs that they are, but hopefully that’s just the result of good opsec.
For citizens, it would be equally imprudent not to make preparations for the possibility that local violence will break out, at least for a limited time.
