If you’re more offended by me saying “fuck” in an essay about mass deportation than you are by the concept of mass deportation I am here to tell you to fuck the fuck off.
@Daojoan Agreed, agreed, agreed, agreed.

@Daojoan

Sorry, but this doesn't make sense to me.

You won't to win people when using rude language, but you do know that.

Personally I don't care much...

@finche @Daojoan "I agree with your position in principle but your language makes me unwilling to agree with your methods." Why would anyone need someone so petty as to ignore actual bad things because you didn't wrap it in the right paper? That person is not to be trusted as they'll tilt with the prevailing winds.

@nini @Daojoan

I oppose that strongly:)

Personally I am quite tolerant regarding the language you are using to bring your point across.

But those opposing your views or knowing nothing about a case will probably link the rudeness of speech to the quality of your points.

That's my point.

@finche @Daojoan Mine (and Joan's) is that if your choice of words or rather one specific word is going to devalue the argument then you don't want that sort of person's support to begin with.
@finche @nini @Daojoan Well it's like the most common manipulation technique for a writer to fill their work with overly emotive language to hide the fact they have no reasonable case. A paper riddled with cursing comes off like that. If you have a case you don't need all that. Yeah, you can look through it--ad hominem and all that, maybe a young writer--but that's asking a lot of a reader when it's you wanting to make a point.
@finche @Daojoan You also won't win people when not using rude language. So what's the point?

@goedelchen @Daojoan

I doubt that:) so I reacted.

@finche The people who focus on rude language while ignoring mass harm were were never going to be won over with milquetoast prose either. To them the only acceptable protest is the kind quiet enough to ignore entirely. @Daojoan

@williampietri @Daojoan

Why the heck do you assume I am ignoring something?

Pls, read once more what I've written. No harm intended.

As a German I have to maintain my own issues and have nothing to win mingling in US affairs.

I took the liberty to share some thoughts about appropriate language.

@finche I didn't say you were ignoring anything. I was talking about the people you were apparently concerned about. And whatever your intent, pissing on other people's activism discourages that activism. That makes is a pro-status-quo intervention in the conversation. If that's not your intent, maybe just put your thoughts in your journal or something.
@finche Are you saying you don't care much about mass deportation?

@magitweeter

No. I do not think so. I in contradiction care a lot of deportation, illegal immigrants and problems my land is experiencing. For me it's a rising problem with chances to disrupt our society and therefore I really am caring.

I am ready to share some thoughts with you if interested.

@magitweeter

In no way reg Trump's plans, to state that clearly.

@Daojoan @brouhaha they can fuck the fuckin’ all the fuckin’ way the fuck off, in (fucking) fact.
@Daojoan
I don’t care about your adjectives. I care about the fact that Trump won 35% of the Hispanic vote in 2020 and is on track to win more this year.
Despite the promise of mass deportations by Republicans, 35% still believe he is better than Biden. That is the issue that can’t be swept under the rug.
@Daojoan
In addition, Arab Americans- probably the second most likely demographic to be deported- are so convinced that the Democratic Party used and abandoned them they are just not going to vote this time and consider a second Trump term a reasonable option and punishment for Democrats and Biden.
@Daojoan I’m an enthusiastic supporter of the liberal use of invectives and expletives in all forms of speech and writing. Sanitising your prose so as to tread lightly upon the reader’s delicate, self-infantilised sensibilities only reduces the shock you’re trying to impart to your argument. It’s probably best to see these pantomime protests against your use of expletives as an attempt to malign your character rather than truth of your argument.
@Daojoan we're big people here, fuck is part of the vocabulary.
@Daojoan someone is offended?
Good, maybe they will get pushed out of their comfort zones.
@Daojoan Fuck FELON45 and fuck the treasonous gop.
@Daojoan abso-motherfucking-cocksucking-lutely
@Daojoan Faith, hope, and "mass deportation now!", and the greatest of these is "mass deportation now!"
