Does anyone on #Guitar Mastodon have software or an app they really like for writing out guitar tabs? Or a particular notebook they prefer? It really isn't working trying to keep all my riff ideas in my head, lol. Imagine that.
@RuVerb can you audio record or even voice record and then convert audio files to midi? It might be easier to find a midi to tab app, maybe? #guitar
@RuVerb I use Guitar Pro for helping me with the lessons I was taking. It’s $$$ but worth it, IMO. There’s also Tux Guitar, which is free.
@RuVerb
I use Guitar Pro and am pretty happy with it.
@RuVerb +1 for Guitar Pro. The .gp is also a really common format, I think Guitar Pro is pretty widely used.
@RuVerb I prefer a Filofax B5 Deskfax personal organizer with custom design music notation pages, for when I need that sort of thing.
@RuVerb That being said, for riff ideas, I more often use my tc electronic WireTap riff recorder pedal and iPhone app.
@RuVerb Another Guitar Pro person here. I also find it useful for learning - easier to have something written down as well as doing it by ear, plus GP can play it back for you at any speed.
@RuVerb MuseScore is great. I prefer buying tab notebooks off Amazon for $8-10 and some pencils for a start, then put what I write into MuseScore by hand later.
