@Catawu @cobalt I know that this is so frequent that it is probably true, but damn it, if they taste that good, label it properly and keep selling it!
Diversity in our diet is good for us and good for the environment (because we shouldn't over exploit stocks to local extinction, and eating wild things makes more people vested in their conservation). Everybody eating the same 5 things is bad.
@Catawu @cobalt true it is a fraud, and fraudulent labelling is a rampant scam in the seafood industry.
But it is even stupider, because if someone took the risk and marketed skate wings, "as good as scallops, and half the price" they would eventually make money hand over fist with lower risk.
But, the incentive to market specific seafood species is low because there is no exclusivity. No way to keep competitors from cashing in.
So they chase existing trends and fraudulently mislabel species.
I just want to say specifically to you, it looks great and I am sure it tasted fantastic. Healthy variety too. Thanks for sharing.
