On the plus side, Google isn't completely messed up yet - in xitter there would be a meltdown and everybody's top priority would be to kill any posts, search results etc related to this =)

It started going downhill 20 years ago.
But, because not enough people were paying attention, it was not widely reported.
It also demosrates that the corpus that google is using does not go back far.

Google search was seriously degenerating from prior to 2016.
I used to reseach metadata on obscure LPs.
Google search just got worse and worse and worse.
