Trump would let states monitor pregnancies and prosecute people who violate abortion bans.

He would use the National Guard to deport undocumented people.

He might fire US Attorneys who refused to prosecute his enemies.

None of this is conjecture. He said these things himself.

@rbreich "Don't take him seriously, he doesn't really mean those things he says."

"He means those things he says, but no one in government would do them."

"Many in government would gladly do those things he says, but Congress would never allow them."

"Congress would allow those things he says, but the courts would overturn them."

"The courts wouldn't overturn those things he says, but our institutional norms would prevent them from being enacted."

"Our institutional norms won't..."

@rbreich it sounds very much like something, someone who wants to nuke hurricanes and inject bleach would do.

@rbreich

Professor Reich, tell that to #MerrickGarland and the #DOJ. Ever notice how 🍊 keeps threatening the judges, jurors, and prosecutors but is never jailed, only fined?

There is a reason for that:

@rbreich It's interesting, isn't it: if Trump says he's going to do something good, he's probably lying. If he says he's going to do something illegal, immoral (or fattening), he's probably telling the truth.
@rbreich he would end the country as we know it.
