End of May chicken updates!
All 10 original chicks are getting strong and doing well! I've taught at least a couple of them how to use the chicken swing, and I'm so proud of them. They bob their head to keep up the momentum and everything, it's wonderful.
We added 3 black copper maran chicks to the total numbers today! They're inside until they're big enough to begin the slow integration into the flock!

Ghost Cottage Bakery@raccoonoakfarm May I ask where you got your Marans from? We're thinking about getting some Marans and would be nice to have recommendations for hatcheries that someone has bought from instead of just random internet searching.
@GhostCottageBakery I'm in Louisiana and there's a locally owned and run feed and grain store that sells from a hatchery that clearly specializes in the various, including rare, chicken and bird breeds (I saw at one point they had a variety of turkey breeds for instance) but not sure of where they get them, I'll ask when I'm back there again!
