As I more and more feel like distancing myself from #bigtech and their dystopian shenanigans, I've been playing around with a fantasy of switching #operatingsystems
Which #linux #distro would the most savvy among you recommend for an absolute beginner?
I'm a very basic user: #websearch #email and #officesuite is all I use my #windows laptop for.

@I_am_elena if you want it to just work, I think #debian and #fedora are excellent. If you want to learn a lot about Linux, I think #archlinux is a great jumping in point.

@I_am_elena you should look into what desktop environment you want to use also. I personally like #GNOME_Desktop. #budgie and #kdeplasma are also great choices. #XFCE is great if your computer isn't very powerful.
