@hacks4pancakes @zackwhittaker Previous Twitter management hated hackers so I was never verified (neither was 2600). Doesn't a blue check mark now mean that you pay for it? I largely stopped paying attention to Twitter since most people in infosec left it.

Registered my #Twitter account in 2008. Certainly never came close to getting a blue checkmark. Last year I deleted the account on a point of principle.

After reading this thread, I thought I'd check to see that my Twitter account had indeed disappeared from #X. Was surprised to find that, apparently, I had done something wrong…

@zackwhittaker Good going, Zack. It’s way better here on Mastodon (and the fediverse, by extension). Elon Sucks has achieved his goal of speedrunning the enshittification of a social media platform, and he doesn’t deserve a single penny for it.

I hope Elon likes Twitter losing users because nobody wants to deal with him and/or the trolls and bigots he’s incentivized to pay $8 per month to have their vile drivel boosted by the algorithm.
