Y'ALL SPEEDOMETER 3.0 IS OUT! YAY! Enjoy your hideous Qualcomm results, btw. No monopoly there or anything, everything is completely normal, please go about your normal activities. (My result is 25 for AMD 7950X) https://browserbench.org/Speedometer3.0/
Speedometer 3.0

And, surprisingly, 18.2 for latest iPhone
@codinghorror this is strange, i get 22.7 for an iphone 14 🤔
@Geoffgom ahh I forgot to turn off ad blocker
@codinghorror I got 19,8 on a 15 pro max, plugged
@codinghorror it crashes before it finishes on my iPhone 14 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@parkerwightman @codinghorror I had the same happen but on a hunch I reran it in Chrome and it worked. No idea why, but I’m guessing I might have enabled some developer options that only applied to safari.
@codinghorror I just got 25 on an iPhone 14 Pro.
@siracusa @codinghorror How much on your Intel Mac Pro?

@siracusa @codinghorror managed to get 27.2 within the in app browser of Ice Cubes app

Edit: sorry forgot to add device, this is iPhone 15 Pro Max

@codinghorror 18.0 on M3 Pro on Safari (16.9 for Chrome)
@codinghorror 4.5 on Pixel 5 in Firefox. Fine with me. Or so I'll keep telling myself.
@codinghorror 23.6 on iPhone 15 Pro (not Max). Quite a discrepancy across the board
@codinghorror iPhone 12 Pro: 15.7
5950x (Firefox on Fedora): 9.78
On my 7950x machine: Chrome 23.6, Edge 22.3, Firefox 22.9. Pretty close field.

@codinghorror I have 7950X, I got 25.2 with Google Chrome in Guest profile mode meaning no extensions, etc.

With a normal profile a score of 21.

@codinghorror got an unsatisfying 14.1 (5950x, firefox, linux, wayland, nvidia)

I think I'll scapegoat nvidia-wayland...

Edit: 7.68 on android firefox pixel 6 pro

@codinghorror 7.47! I win!

Lower better, right?

Pixel 6a, Firefox, normal profile.

@codinghorror You have a much better machine than I, I got 7 on FF, 9 on Chrome on my desktop (older i7-6700) and 2.75 on FF on my Pixel 3, all of which seem to have acceptable performance for me.
@codinghorror 21.5 on my iPhone 13 mini
@codinghorror 26.1 in Safari on a M1 Pro MacBook Pro
@codinghorror Very weird results on an M1 iPad Pro, iOS 17.5 beta 2.
Running in a browser winow opened from Mona, i got 21.9 and 21.7 ± .9
Running in Safari windows with multiple tabs open, got 13.7 and 14.7.
@codinghorror
12.7 on iPhone 12 mini
Is that anything?
@codinghorror
I want to know more about Electronic Granite Hat.

@codinghorror I was surprised at how close behind firefox is to chrome on desktop (m1 max mac).

safari: 13.4
ff: 22.4
chrome: 23.6

It kept crashing on my iPhone 14.

@codinghorror Framework 13 7840u: 12.7 in Firefox
EDIT: My 5800x Desktop: 11.9
@codinghorror 8.1 on a 8th generation intel core i7 mobile computer on battery.
@codinghorror 14.2 on an iPhone SE 2. Had to run in Firefox because safari kept reloading the page before the test finished.

For anyone curious, I just tested every device I could reach.

• 15.4 (iPhone 12)
• 7.46 (Steam Deck OLED (10W TDP limit))

@codinghorror 22.7 on Firefox Focus and 22.9 on Safari. iPhone 12 Pro.

Not sure I understand your point on the Qualcomm monopoly?

@codinghorror 25 on an iPhone 15 Plus, playing audio in the background:
@codinghorror got 9.22 with Pixel 8 Pro and 13 with ROG Ally desktop.
@codinghorror Not all speed tests are Qualcomm crap. I use speedof.me and testmy.net.
@jrivett Qualcomm hardware is crap, not the tests. This is like blaming ACT/SAT for low test scores.
@codinghorror LOL Sorry my half-asleep brain misunderstood.

@codinghorror
As always, here's my reply with the latest and greatest from Google; this time it's the Pixel 8 Pro...

7.85 🫠

@erraggy @codinghorror Assuming you used Chrome, this is what I got on a Pixel 8 Pro with Firefox (and uBlock Origin disabled)
@bradwilson
Yeah, defaults for me. I've been doing this since I first saw Jeff posting them.
@codinghorror
@codinghorror On Windows 11: 19.8 on Edge (no extensions), 11.5 with Firefox (uBlock Origin installed but disabled). AMD 5900X.
@codinghorror I got 18.8 on an iPhone 12.
