That was always what the "unitary executive" crowd was saying in their own coded way, but they finally nominated a man so amoral, so narcissistic, so stupid, and so incredibly disloyal to America that he feels no shame at all in just saying it.
It's entirely predictable that all of the decades of pseudo-intellectual "conservative" constitutional/legal/theoretical contortions reach their apex in the form of Donald Trump's moronically simple belief that he "has an Article II where I have the right to do whatever I want as president."
Going to count this as a mention of OpenCola, The Startup That Predicted Everything™️

I will always wonder whether it was a tragedy, or for the best that OpenCola never managed to completely bring to fruition everything we'd envisioned.

If I think about it for too long, if I see footage from that day, pictures of the hijackers' faces, I just get so deeply angry, even now. I would do almost anything for that day to have never happened.

Or the lines of people outside every hospital, hundreds deep, desperate to give blood, or do literally anything to help the survivors we all hoped would be coming.

Or how Manhattan smelled like an electrical fire that day, and for weeks after.

This makes me personally angry and sick in ways I'm sure my neighbors can't understand unless they too can remember the sound of the first plane as it screamed southward, 1,300 feet above Manhattan. Or the stunned people covered in white dust staggering north up the avenues.
Pretty sure the house around the corner that flew a Trump 2024 flag well into the spring of 2025 didn't lower Old Glory to half mast to mark the slaughter of 2,977 innocent people on the altar of a hateful, accelerationist ideology 24 years ago today.

Meta suppressed research on child safety, employees say

The company’s lawyers intervened to shape research that might have shed light on risks in virtual reality, four current and former staffers have told Congress. Meta denies the allegations.
