I guess it's time for an update on what I've been working on over the last year: A new app, completely rebuilt and rethought from the ground up. This probably won’t replace the current Reeder (not going away) for a lot of users.

It's not just an RSS reader. The app allows you to access content from various other sources like Podcasts, YouTube, Mastodon, and more.

It won't sync everything, only your saved items (favorites etc).

No more unread counts, it remembers the scroll positions instead.

The app is still in development but I'm hoping for a public beta sometime this spring. It will be available for Mac, iPhone and iPad.

@rizzi Would love to test. Very happy Reeder & Mela user. I regularly test/compare with competing apps and always come back to yours. It has all the details right, instead of having all the features.

@rizzi This looks just like the Tapestry app on Kickstarter. I really like Reeder a lot! Looking forward to trying this out.

@mgs @rizzi Reeder is the OG app that made me fall in love with apps (and tech news) on my first iPod Touch back in 2009. The app felt so tactile to navigate (that swipe menu was 👌🏻) and soothing to read. It’s in my top 3 best app ever on iPhone.

@mgs @rizzi it’s actually ironic that Twitter eventually replaced Reeder (for me at least) as my source of news and now we’re moving back to RSS readers. We’re back in 2009!

@sonix @rizzi I assume that the Tapestry announcement is why @rizzi decided it was time to go public - they appear to be similar ideas, though I’m sure implementation details will be different. I’ve been a Reeder user for many, many years, and also love @Iconfactory’s work, so I’m looking forward to seeing what both come up with.
