I finally finished making my cute little Apple Vision Pro stand that you can also 3D print for free if you want πŸ₯³

My little Apple Vision Pro stand

I want somewhere to put my Vision Pro when not in use. Many people use the original box, and there’s beautiful stands that exist out there, but I was looking for something more compact and vertical so it would take up less room on my desk. So I opened Fusion 360 (which I am still very much learning), grabbed my calipers, and set out to design a little stand. There was interest when I showed the first version, so I set out to tidying it up a bit before making it available.

Apple Vision Pro Stand by christianselig

This is a stand for the Apple Vision Pro I made out of a desire to have a compact, vertical stand for my desk and being unable to find one available that did that. You can either print the included rod, or use a dowel of your own choosing that is 0.75" and 215 mm in length (using something fun like walnut, brass, copper, or steel can add a cool look!). It uses four 6 mm rubber feet on the bottom. This is for my 23W light seal model, I'm admittedly not sure how other sizes work with this. Might need to scale the pringle up/down. I printed mine on a Bambu P1S with white marble PLA filament (also from Bambu). I recommend binding all the pieces together with superglue. This is a stand I made for fun in Fusion 360. If you print this and something bad happens I do not take responsibility. You are free to distribute/sell this physically if you would like, but please do not distribute the software files on any other site.

@christianselig Thank you so much for making this! FYI I think there is something slightly wrong with the .3mf file if you intended to include the dowel as a 2nd plate, for example. I found the STL for the dowel on the model page, but you don't see it if you download the 3mf file and just open it to print.
@domserio Oops, I'll look into including that optionally! I’d definitely recommend sourcing a dowel externally though
@christianselig are you not afraid that putting the entire weight of the device on the cushion will have an impact on it after a while ?
@jonathangrenier Maybe! We'll find out πŸ˜› Not super worried, and if it does it's only $29 to replace it
@christianselig @jonathangrenier wow, surprisingly low considering the polishing cloth is $19
@christianselig Thank you for this (and also for Juno)! I printed out a stand for another VR headset that I’ve been using since the day I got the Vision Pro, but I have not been very happy with it. This looks perfect.
@christianselig I love using the iPad app Shapr3D with the Apple Pencil for such projects. Do you know of it? It costs quite a lot (but luckily is free for me as a student): https://apps.apple.com/de/app/shapr3d-modellierungs-cad/id1091675654

@nmann Shapr is awesome! I was looking for something with parametric support though since it makes editing/tweaking a lot easier. I think Shapr is working on that though
@christianselig totally forgot to answer, sorry. I only do such basic stuff that I didn’t even know what that was. Seems to be implemented now as per this mail in case you want to check it out ^^
@christianselig BUT what size light shield does this support? 21W? 35N? πŸ˜‰
@jann Oh oops, this is for a 23W, totally forgot that was a thing
@christianselig this is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Thanks for sharing.

You rock Christian! I don’t have a 3D printer, but going to get it printed via 3rd party. This is exactly the stand I’ve been wanting. Saw something similar on Behance

@whatthecj Ooo, that's snazzy, the steel is so much cooler haha
@christianselig yours is cooler because it's real and exists!! Thank you again -- now i just need to figure out how to navigate PCBWay to get it printed
@christianselig Thank you! I was able to print this right from the Bambu Labs mobile app. Pretty slick!
@christianselig But does it have a spot for the compatible polishing cloth??
@christianselig aw, why does it look so sad?!
@christianselig Looks great! Is this stand design also compatible with the Dual Loop Band?
@unrealchicken It should be, would just flop against the rod a bit
@christianselig Printing pringlefinalfinalfinal 😍 Now to check if I have any dowel.
@christianselig Good call on the dowel. Looks great!
@christianselig if only I could trust my cat to not knock this over.

@christianselig Free*

* Price of the 3D printer that I now absolutely need to buy.

@thillsman I wish they had a referral program lol
@christianselig Thanks so much for the model! I printed it myself last night. I ran out of white filament, but I had some gold left over, and I think it turned out pretty sweet-looking!
@Scatterplot Whoaaa! That's actually a really cool touch haha. Love it!
@christianselig Here it is all together, with a walnut dowel! Thanks again for the awesome design!
@Scatterplot Aaahh I love this one so much! Nice print!
