Who and where I amhttps://www.hofferth.net/
@caseyliss watching the race on AVP?

@marcoarment keeps calling out my shameful addiction to [fruit stacking game]. (I blame @imyke, but that’s beside the point…)

The real reason I’m ashamed, though, is that I keep playing despite the fact that every implementation I’ve tried is just a shitty app.

What I really want is a @jamesthomson version: 3D-rendered in full-physics glory, with an absurd number of falling bananas.

@geerlingguy Your 10” rack page on GitHub is great. Does anyone have a similar set of links to accessories/modules for the RackMate TT (~7” ish) size? Or is this such a niche that you’re basically on your own?

I suspect the latter, but it’s okay — my use case is super unconventional anyway. It’ll be my frame for a modular system of electronics for a full-size astromech droid. Batteries, power conversion, RC, servo controls, motor ESCs, a few ESP32s, a Teensy, etc. Probably all custom 3D prints.

@jsnell @imyke Curse you both. Suika Game is addicting despite its infuriating jankiness.

I’ve spent the last… well the last long while creating an homage to the 1984 Macintosh! It’s 3D printed, has a laser-cut cork foot, Easter eggs like the hidden signatures from the original and more!

It’s an amazing little ~$100 machine!

Nerds: I own my lastname.org domain, but the .com has been squatted for years with silly prices.

Over the past week or two I’ve been receiving shady-seeming emails from multiple individuals offering to sell it to me for less and less (down to $100).

How do I ID the actual owner and be safe in buying? And I assume once I own it, further renewals are priced reasonably?

@caseyliss Side note: it’s still early, but so far swapping out my Klipsch 7.1 HT for a Sonos system (Arc Ultra+Sub4) is going pretty well. It’s not the same, but despite my new living room arrangement being “weird”, the audio is okay enough to avoid marital issues. Certainly impressive for what it is, and a lot less imposing on the decor.

(I may already have 2x Era 300 ready to unbox and install as surrounds…)

@caseyliss Omg this is so “you” and… I love it.

It’s an ESP32 LED matrix programmed to indicate the codec that a Sonos Arc Ultra is decoding via eARC. Brilliant — I’ve been routinely checking the app for the obscure badge that displays whether I’m listening to Atmos or not.

@caseyliss @siracusa So, after 10+ years, the Historical Commission is asserting dominance over our living space. Repainting, new floors, new couches. And A/V horrors galore.

My 7.2 Klipsch Reference setup has been banished to storage or sale.

The wall where my 75” X900H has been will be reclaimed for seating; HC wants TV *gasp* above the fireplace, 45° to the room.

So:
…Arc Ultra?
…Bravia Bar 8/9? Quad?

I’ve spent so long being anti-sound-bar, I know little about how they are decent now.
