Just saw a surprising headline "Southeast Asian countries dominate demand for Russian coal."
The countries? #India, #SouthKorea #China and, most surprisingly, #Turkey.
Hmmm 🙄

Why is Turkey most surprising?
#Hungary & #Turkey are #pincers in #Putin's #revanchistDreams developed in plain sight ➡️ https://mastodon.social/@rameshgupta/111591513022426045
Turkey has been helping Putin openly — blocking ascension of #Sweden to #NATO until very recently, and not recognizing Putin-ally #Iran-backed #Hamas as a terrorist orgn.
>> it's because none of those countries are Southeast Asian
Where is South Korea, if not in "Southeast Asia?"
@rameshgupta 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I really hope this isn't a gotcha question because:
1. They're in "East Asia"
2. You can check who's in ASEAN
3. I can't tell you how much this would puzzle a Korean hahahahaha
If you like, you can fact check me, a person living in Southeast Asia
@ncoca
ok thanks, I learnt something valuable today
If we're not talking bad geography, actually, #SouthKorea is the *non-Southeast Asian* country that does puzzle me the most - completely expect the others to continue importing Russian coal/gas.
Even Japan, once led by Putin's wannabe best friend #ShinzoAbe, has mostly cut off Russian energy imports.
