This is the dumbest thing Iโ€™ve read this year
@carnage4life starting to be impressed by Musk because most people have to use way more words to communicate so much bullshit, he's really good at being economical with it
@carnage4life Just imagine! If Musk were just a little bit smarter, he could have posted that tripe and simultaneously not spent $44b to buy a social media company.
@tob @carnage4life
...which is now worth less than $10B!*
_
*not accounting for the fact it was overvalued by something like 40% to begin with.

@FeralRobots @tob @carnage4life **and don't forget of the $44bn:
$13Bn - secured loans and other debt
$7.1Bn - from assholes like his Saudi friends for equity
$6.25Bn - personal loans <== secured by $62.5Bn of Tesla stock
$20Bn cash <== secured by selling Tesla stock... which if you consider the deflationary effect of dumping it over 3 batches in 6 months, cost him closer to $50-60Bn.

So of the $35Bn he personally secured or cashed in the transaction prolly cost him closer to $100Bn.

@FeralRobots @tob @carnage4life (numbers from news sources, wikipedia and what I can recall from the now somewhat defunct Opening Arguments podcast's Nov. 2022 episode where they deep dived on how Musk was coughing up all the cash. )
@tezoatlipoca @FeralRobots @carnage4life I forgot that he'd sold his TSLA stock. Diversification!
@carnage4life His mother obviously didn't have a c-section.
@carnage4life It's only January 4, he's really upped his game.

@carnage4life so lung size, rib cage size must also all be affected too ๐Ÿ˜‚

How does this even happen?

@jag @carnage4life
Musk's conclusion is based on the common, erroneous belief that the brain & skull don't grow much from their size at birth. Those beliefs are obvious nonsense, but they persist. (They're popular artifacts of the fact that skulls grow RELATIVELY LITTLE compared to other body parts. But they do grow. I cannot wear my grandchildren's hats.)
@carnage4life <tintin> Captain, it's only January 4 </tintin>
@carnage4life The manโ€™s an idiot.
@asymco @carnage4life
Imagine buying a car from this guy.
@carnage4life It is butโ€ฆ Iโ€™ve decided against reposting and commenting because he thrives from all exposure. We should just stop listening to
@carnage4life Is that because he was not delivered via c-section?
@carnage4life to quote another loon โ€ฆ the best is yet to come! ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

@carnage4life I disagree. Elon's idea in general does not contradict accepted science, anthropologists speculated about this limit long time ago https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-physical-limits-to-genius/

Yeah, it is still stupidish, as evolution does not work this fast, and there was no evidence for this hypothesis. But far from dumbest.

Unfortunately, most of the commenters seem to have less understanding that Elon.

The Physical Limits to Genius

The laws of physics may well prevent the human brain from evolving into an ever more powerful thinking machine

@carnage4life
I wonder if he knows about cooking too.
@carnage4life ah right, because sperm whales are the smartest creatures on the planet.
@tncowart @carnage4life how do they even perform C-sections on whales?
๐Ÿ˜‹
@carnage4life This was an argument bandied about by some neuroscientists back in the day, but the bottom line is, INTRA-species brain volume differences mean fuck all, where as relative brain:body volumes compared BETWEEN species has some meaning (dolphins smarter than horses, etc)
@carnage4life the year is young. Give him time.
@carnage4life @HilliTech Maybe they squeezed Muskโ€™s head a little too hard with the forceps. Either that or he really is just that demented!

@carnage4life but think of the vastly different seeding of the microbiota. Is he sure that larger brain size is the driving factor in human intelligence and that vaginal birth is whatโ€™s holding us back?

Also, Iโ€™ve long wondered if Elon was an extreme preemie - I can see it in his face. Might explain some underdeveloped brain regions. But lately Iโ€™m just thinking itโ€™s too much plastic surgery.

@carnage4life you'ld think a guy with so many kids would have a better idea on how babies work.

@carnage4life

Is there truly no subject that Elon isnโ€™t an expert on? #ElonPutz

For those followers of Musk who based on this post of him now think that a c-section will give their child a larger brain (because Musk is such a well-know physician /sarcasm), please inform yourself further and look at the researched health-related consequences:

โ€œFor example, children born by C-section are at greater risk of developing metabolic and immune-related conditions, including type 2 diabetes, asthma, celiac disease, and obesity,โ€

Birth Method Impacts on Brain Development and Behavior

Research investigating the impact of vaginal and C-section deliveries on neuronal cell death hint at mechanisms that could underly the effects of birth mode on brain and behavior.

@paulschoe @carnage4life True, if you want to have kids that have bigger better brains chose partners with bigger heads and women with wider hips!

Choosing partners with bigger heads definitely works to get offspring with bigger heads.

But it is the content that counts, not the packaging.

Wider hips are not necessary. All is quickly arranged in the period after birth. Baby's skulls are very flexible.

@glennsills @carnage4life

@paulschoe @carnage4life Probably but taken to the limit with a muskian sized head you'd be better off with bigger hips. For one thing, a tiny woman would probably refuse to have other children after passing one of those gigantic craniums.
@carnage4life Elon Musk, by all outward appearances, may the dumbest man alive. Youโ€™d think someone with this many children would understand this shit better. Iโ€™ve only got three kids and even I can tell you that thatโ€™s not how this works.

@carnage4life

Woman will soon gain an evolutionary zip lock bag seal abdomen for birth.

@carnage4life Was Einstein a c-section? Newton? Plato? Wow. Just... Wow.

@carnage4life
Obviously Musk went through the birth canal, his mother has narrow hips.

Brain size is only part of the story. My siblings and I all entered life the same way, my older brother and I could almost be twins yet my SAT scores are significantly higher than any of theirs.

@carnage4life Well, it's only the first week of January. Give the MuskRat time, he'll say far dumber things.
@carnage4life I wonder if he was a c-section baby.... Nah.....

@carnage4life โ€œWhy arenโ€™t men more smart? It must be because of vaginas. Yes indeed, itโ€™s the birthing process & those pesky mothers (always getting in the way of our god-like masculine potential) that gone & did it to us.โ€

-a genius

@carnage4life didn't want to brave the waters of twitter with this one? ๐Ÿ˜…
@carnage4life

It's like, "how well did bigger brains work out for neanderthals?"
