Funny how anti-regulation #MAGA types love the Bald Eagle.
It nearly went extinct—saved by banning DDT, the Endangered Species Act, and habitat protection. All government action.
By 1963, only 417 nesting pairs were left. By 2007, over 10,000. Nixon signed those protections. Even he cared more than today's GOP. So when a MAGA fan flaunts an eagle, remind them: “Woke” liberals and federal regs saved that bird. Not them.
Four years under Biden and eight years under Obama I don't recall any elected official being forcibly dragged out of a press conference. I don't recall any State Nat'l Guard units being commandeered by the Federal Gov't. I don't recall the Marines being turned against US citizens.
While the actions by Trump and his appointees concern me what really scares me is the obedient and violent enforcement of these actions by police, bodyguards and soldiers. The US is at risk not because of Trump but because so many will dutifully follow his orders and will turn on their fellow citizens.
Why isn't the media talking about this? Why isn't the story that the Marines and CA Nat'l Guard actually showed up and followed extreme orders? Why isn't the story that a half dozen bodyguards and cops followed orders to forcibly drag a Calif Senator out of the room? Ask these people why they are following Trump. Ask these people if they remember the oaths they took to serve the Constitution or to Protect & Serve the public.
If you're not plugged into the movement, I'm here to tell you that it's BIG, much bigger than what you see on the news: there are Signal groups in every community in southern California to report sightings of ICE, coordinate protests, provide legal support, request aid, draft guides, & more. That's tens of thousands of people who are actively mobilized, and who are working to mobilize more people in their communities.
It's BIG and it's growing.

Large peaceful protests are already underway in Los Angeles, New York and elsewhere! On the 14th there will be at least 1800 protests. The biggest may happen at noon in Philadelphia, where the Second Continental Congress signed the Declaration of Independence.
There will be lots of US flags at these protests. The people protesting Trump's authoritarian regime are the true patriots... not his henchmen.
