I can't remember why but when I was 13ish we had a couple gallons of non-alcoholic punch from some thing. In the basement, working on building some plastic kit-model, I had cup after cup until I experienced what I now see as water-intoxication.

I didn't care why. I just wanted MORE.

At 13 i'd've chosen to drink myself to death if I had the opportunity.

There's a pre-12-step trope along the line lines of 'once I see where this can go, I can't stop.'
It's just wild to me how young I was when I first really LIVED that.

Has anyone thought of doing a denial-of-service attack against an AI by just asking it a series of really complicated questions, like in the famous Star Trek TOS scene where Spock instructs an AI to calculate pi to the last digit? Obviously that wouldn't work with our current AI programs, but something similar might... something that's tailored to the way current LLMs work.

YAY! IT EXPLODED!

...amazing how hard it was to find a mainstream news story that didn't try to hide that fact, though. I wonder why? 🤔

To wit, AI products such as LLMs:

• Are primarily developed under eugenicist philosophies, and primarily financially benefit fascists.
• Are trained on uncompensated and nonconsentual labor.
• Require unconscionable and unsustainable levels of energy and water waste.
• Are used to undermine labor rights, such as the power of artists to say "no" to unconscionable demands.
• Necessarily consolidate and centralize power.
• Present unacceptable risks due to disinformation and other errors.

Being declared an enemy of the state—a terrorist—would get you crucified back in the day.

That is how proscriptions work.

"It's a good name for my favorite socks, like sharknado. Sharknado and the broccoli sockolis. I'm going to start a band."

I've walked this earth for five decades and have arrived just now at the phrase "sharknado and the broccoli sockolis."

Yay for me I guess.

Think that Trump's slush fund is audacious because he's stealing BILLIONS? Wait till you learn how Musk is stealing TRILLIONS.
