The #Linux on #Mobile stand will be at #FOSDEM once again this year!

We're looking forward to showing off devices running #SailfishOS, #postmarketOS, #Mobian, #PureOS, #UBports, #Droidian and #CalyxOS as well as devices from #MNT Research.

What a line up!

Last year we got a phenomenal response. We're hoping this year will be even bigger and better.

The graphic is from last year so doesn't have all the required logos yet! Apologies for the missing ones.

@flypig
I'm really impressed by the quality of #SailfishOS, which I use for 10 years now.

Now I tried #Mobian (since four weeks), and I'm exited, too. There is work left to make it more stable, but I did not expect the Nextcloud integration, CalDAV, CardDAV, XMPP, Matrix, ... to be that great!

I can not wait to put my hands on #PostmarketOS (will be the next try) and the other alternatives.

A big "thank you" to all the projects and contributors! That's really amazing stuff!

@chbmeyer I'm really happy you're having such good experiences! All of the projects are developing rapidly and there's always new stuff to discover it turns out :) Will we see you at FOSDEM in 2024?

@flypig
Honestly it's not very likely for me to come to Brussels.

I'm really curios and interested, but I believe that my family will not accept to let me go "for such stuff" πŸ€”

Perhaps I will have arguments for a family weekend trip to an important european city. 😎 πŸ˜‰
We will see.

@chbmeyer πŸ˜ƒ Brussels is beautiful in February πŸ˜‰ 🌧️

If you can't make it, you can always follow along with the FOSS on Mobile devroom to get a flavour!

@flypig any Mobile NixOS devices? The PinePhone is one of their supported devices.
@ahoneybun That's a really interesting question. I would love to try it myself but haven't yet. In my opinion it'd be great to have it on the stand if someone wanted to demo it.
@flypig I think it doesn't help with the lack of real updates on the website but things have been moving from what I can tell. Maybe @grahamc knows more?
@flypig I am still not decided about trip to Brussels, but I would like to see (bring/join with) also NemoMobile.

@jmlich Please do! We don't have NemoMobile represented but personally I'd love to see how it's been developing.

My experience of FOSDEM so far is that it's always been worth the trip (just trying a bit of extra persuasion there πŸ˜‰ ).

@flypig

#Linux bitte auf alten Mobiltelefonen, wie auf alten Computern und Laptops.

Geht das?

Linux fΓΌr Smartphones mit Wechselakku. Das wΓ€re gut. #Lineage bietet das leider kaum an.

@PaRADikaldies (Sorry for replying in English) Amongst the different distributions there's quite broad coverage of phones, but I'm not sure how many have removable batteries I'm afraid (I wish they did too). Here are a few lists of devices as a start:

Community Hardware Adaptations

This wiki lists all devices that have recent community adaptations, and where to find them. Please edit these tables if information is incorrect, a port is no longer usable, or if you’ve made a new one! The link should be to some page where interested parties can find information on flashing your image onto their device. If there isn’t one already, then you could create a post in the Hardware Adaptation section and link it from here. Sailfish OS 5.0.0 (Tampella) Device Port Developer Link N...
