@Rik_Dhuyvetters @auschwitzmuseum Really? Show me where Israel is rounding people up on trains and taking them to gas ovens? Millions were lost in the Holocaust. As much as the Israeli govt’s current actions are repulsive, they haven’t come anywhere close to what the Nazis did. The people who died then are just as deserving of remembrance as any person who has died due to genocide. Don’t strip people of their humanity in preference of seeing only their religion/nationality.

@Rik_Dhuyvetters @auschwitzmuseum Where did I claim Israel wasn’t committing genocide? You suggested that an organization dedicated to remembering the victims of a genocide are no longer credible because those victims shared a religion with those currently carrying out atrocities. That kind of reasoning is not only faulty, but is destructive as well.

@IpsoFacto @auschwitzmuseum Religion does play a part, yes. But it's not the core of why I can't follow that account anymore. The fact is that the descends of the people who are subject of that account are now committing the same atrocities as they were subjected to. So for my mental health, I stopped following them. That's all.

@Rik_Dhuyvetters @auschwitzmuseum Cop out. Many kids died and had no descendants. Many entire families died - no descendants. There are descendants living in the US and aren’t Israeli. Over 80% of Israeli’s don’t support what Netanyahu is doing. Stop making excuses. If you think your mental is strained, trying being a Jew or Palestinian right now. That you say religion plays a part just makes you an anti-Semite, so own it. For you, it was never about Israel’s actions.
