At the #CairoPeaceSummit convened by Egypt’s Pres Abdel Fatah El-#Sisi, #Arab ldrs conveyed a unified msg: attacks on #civilians in #Gaza must stop & #HumanitarianAid allowed in & urged the Israeli-#Palestinian #peace process to be rekindled somehow.

Sitting across from the foreign ministers of #France, #Germany & other #Western nations, Arab ldrs made bitter accusations of #European & #American double standards.

President #Biden & many #Euro ldrs have voiced support for #Israel, but have also repeatedly appealed for #humanitarian relief in #Gaza & the protection of #civilians as the death toll there mounts. Critics in…accuse #Western ldrs of failing to put enough pressure on Israel to rein in its bombing of Gaza or lift its #siege.

Sat’s limited #HumanitarianAid delivery came only after Biden announced he had reached a deal w/PM #Netanyahu to allow aid delivery to Gaza, subject to strict conditions.

@Nonilex It was noteworthy that there was no mention of hostages, no condemnation of Hamas, no mention of the use of human shields. The Europeans who participated should be ashamed of themselves.
