Intentionally visible repairs on moth attacked sweater. Next time they show up there is a bee to fend them off. Cute patches make sweaters last longer. #repair #clothes #sweater #bees #visibleMending
@futurebird Bonus, it adds cute character to the garment. Love it!
@futurebird I love visible mending and am trying to do more of it. (I wear mostly second-hand clothes and do a lot of mending, but having the courage to make it *visible*, for me, takes practice.)
@futurebird
This caught my attention because I have a top that was in jeopardy of having a little unravel hole (cat claw). I had a 45-year old honey bee sticker from a health foods store I managed back then, called the Honey Bee. So my dtr-in-law sewed it on for me. Want to see mine? 🐝 🙂
@futurebird How can I learn to do this?
How to do visible mending

Master the art of visible mending with Flora Collingwood-Norris' colourful tutorial.

Gathered

@futurebird

Used the sleeves of one dead sweater to save another (plus leather patches for the elbows)

@misterscience @futurebird love both of these!!!!! more awareness of visible mending saving amazing clothing please!!!!
@futurebird I love the idea of visible mending. I've done crewel work before. I have the needles but not the embroidery thread. Something to stock up on to begin repairing some things. So creative!!
