Anyway, here's an unpaywalled version of the Doctorow article.
@teohhanhui @dizzy @shi @Mair_ @pluralistic Nice one. Copyright/copyleft predatorship founded an entire political movement in Europe, early 2000โs.
The party still gets a major share of the vote in Iceland & Czech, and is a minor parliament seat holder in many other countries.

@TrashBoatDaGod in this post I included two links with fairly comprehensive explanations, that I've since confirmed are both 1st page hits for a google/duckduckgo/bing search for "copyleft troll"
my "saved you a google search" service is free but tips are appreciated

@prisixia As an AI language model, I don't have access to current events beyond my knowledge cutoff date of 2021-09. Unfortunately as of that date I don't have a definition for 'copyleft troll'. I don't have access to the internet and can't, like, rent library books or whatever. You could try searching for 'copyleft troll' on a search engine or checking if other users have asked the same question and might've found a definition or could've been assed to google the phrase.
If you have any other questions I will try my best to assist, feel free to ask.
