Fire TVs now block piracy apps on installation, instead of at launch

Amazon has been slowly evolving its app blocking process ever since it was revealed that piracy apps would be blacklisted on Fire TV devices last year. Users first began seeing warning messages when launching apps that Amazon believed contained unlicensed content, but the apps were allowed to open.

Any service that allows #UserGeneratedContent and #Comments without allowlisting beforehand has the statistical inevitability to be abused for #CSAM, #malware and #piracy.

At least it's trivial to add #Blocklists in #Mastodon, now the devs need to pull their thumbs out their asses and enable blocklist feed support for good...
