Thanks to a coworker, I'm gonna become real annoying about Snow Bros IRL now. Anybody know any fun facts about snow bros besides how it was a huge hit in Korea?
I put on Com Brasil TV this morning as background noise and I'm glad to know that my portuguese hasn't fully rusted. I'm definitely not where I was uhh maybe a year ago before I fully focused on Japanese and started MLIS school, but it's nice to know it's still there. I should engage with the language more to keep it that way.
Very proud day for me as I didn't play a single bit of VSAV after work. Actually had a nice set of Puyo Puyo Sun

I have a question for anyone with experience in any kind of language learning.

How do you actively practice using context/prior knowledge to translate information? Or rather what kind of activities can i provide as an educator to cultivate that skill?

I run a Japanese study program in my library and it's a skill i see lacking here and there.

I think maybe due to my experience with Japanese and trying to play imported games I couldn’t fully read, maybe I developed this skill a bit more than most, but I wanna know if there are any exercises y’all could suggest that would improve this skillset more.

I gotta make some concrete moves to play more games other than VSAV.

Currently my goals are to play more Asuka 120 and Sonic The Fighters, but I gotta remember the netplay procedure so I can login as naturally as I login to the VSAV lobby

does anyone know a JP/ENG dictionary that's truly friendly to learners starting from zero? I like Jisho, but it gatekeeps anyone that doesn't know hiragana.

This is kinda part of that calculus. Like my vsav isn't perfect by any means, but if I can scratch out a third while most of my training time was spent trying to derank to E on fightcade, then I'm in a comfortable spot.

I'll still hang around the server cuz #general-discussion is always a riot, but maybe I won't auto queue in the FC lobby as often.
