After a superficial examination, the doctor asked to speak with Tiffinny’s mom privately. She says he reminded her Emmaus is a religious health clinic, and, according to Oorbeck, told her, “‘We don’t feel comfortable with Tiffinny’s presence in our office.’”

“‘We don’t see transgendered patients in this clinic,’” Oorbeck says Dr. Scott Waclawik, a family medicine physician, explained.

@Susan_Larson_TN then the clinic needs to be closed. Simple as. Religion has NO PLACE in medicine.
@habituallytired Organized religion has no place in society. Religion should be a personal matter only.
@Susan_Larson_TN @habituallytired the doctor is welcome to whatever beliefs they want to hold for their own religion & personal care, but if they are going to practice medicine as a licensed physician they should be required to maintain the minimum professional standard of a scientific, clinical approach to a patient's medical care without appealing to magic or gods.
