Just putting it out there for every boss desperate to get people to return to the office. You're just offering sucky incentives.

These unsung heroes took India to the moon

The world celebrates Indian expat entrepreneurs. It should pay more attention to the bright minds that chose not to emigrate.

@shriramk
Torn between scorn for this pathetic cheapskate bribery and now wanting a masala dosa
@inthehands @shriramk Considering that I currently have to drive an hour each way to get a decent masala dosa prepared for me, I would absolutely stay at the office for one.
@steve @shriramk
There used to be a place that made good ones in the next suburb north of Mpls, maybe 20 min from me, but they had some sort of small restaurant meltdown and are now gone. And while the dosai were good, it’s their chana bhatura I still dream of.
@inthehands @steve I read that paragraph and nearly signed up for an ISRO job.
@steve @inthehands @shriramk People hate it when I tell them I work in an office that is ten seconds away and also has masala dosa
@shriramk
Free masala dosa and filter coffee? At a location that's by design 30 miles north of everywhere? That *is* an offer you can't refuse. 😁
@shriramk Isn't (wasn't?) Google doing this?

@shriramk engineers are so easy to bribe with free food and coffee, Silicon Valley has engineered this to perfection. But, it's strange that they also cut these benefits for "budget" reasons. Makes me feel like they don't really want people to return to the office
@shriramk set standards for air quality, publish them, meet them.
@shriramk I’ve been back at my office for about a month (voluntarily) because my house is been renovated so I have no place to work at home. It turns out we have a lot of great incentives I forgot about! Really enjoying it and even learned a few things I probably would not have otherwise. Probably going to keep doing this once the renovation is done.

@afarnham I'm glad when people have the freedom to choose between the two, and even more so at a micro level.

I'm just glad that the next time we have a snowstorm, I don't have to figure out what I should do and my students should do, and can instead smoothly switch to virtual and everyone can just stay in their respective cocoons.

@shriramk Blockchain mining should think of adding masala dosas and filter coffee as mining rewards.
