Husband, dad, Staff iOS Engineer @ ForeFlight and first employee. Formerly, built software for the International Space Station (EATCS). Novice powerlifter. Houston, TX

@marcoarment several years ago I took over my companies CI infrastructure for building our iOS app, it was 10 Mac minis in a closet in Austin (I live in Houston). After a cold freeze in 2021(22?) when the Texas power grid failed, we realized we need more robustness. We developed a one click provisioning script with bash and a tool called Ansible. With it we can deploy to our macs or AWS Macs.

@geerlingguy made some mac Ansible tools that i highly recommend. Can give more info later if you want.

@caseyliss I’ve found these skills greatly help codex with SwiftUI (from Thomas Ricouard, who wrote one of the links in the atp show notes from today’s episode)

Does anyone know if Xcode 16 is still usable once you upgrade to Tahoe?
It’s kind of crazy how well Google and Facebook can map out who belongs to social nodes. Posted a link to Cometeer coffee in a private Signal chat, not 20 minutes later several of us are being emailed ads for cometeer.

If your #iOS #developer team is struggling to move to #Swift 6/Xcode 16 due to #Apple’s new Swift #Concurrency changes, I highly recommend contacting @mattiem (or even reading his blog posts). He did a workshop for @foreflight that was incredibly valuable in learning about the new Swift 6 Concurrency changes.

I can't say enough positive things about his workshop and the content he prepared & presented. Consensus was that it was far more valuable and practical than any of the #WWDC sessions.

Lifted for the first time in months. Currently two months post ankle surgery and 7 months post original ankle injury. Super light weights for me, but cleared to slowly ramp back up.
Made it to WWDC. It’s in Portland, at the Panic office, right?

So starting to plan a long IFR cross country flight (literally) from KUES to Orlando. Other than the length of flight the only annoying part of the flight is ORD. I can plan T265 (and know I will get it) around all of the bravo or beg on bended knee for V191 knowing I prob would get a full route clearance to some random stuff. Anyone have a clear way to get through the bravo without going over water?

Xcode Cloud breaks just as I need to release something. I don't think Apple realizes it either.

Status is currently green (and has been for the 20 hours I have had this problem):
