Mx. Luna Corbden šø@jensorensen Seriously though, our side is terrible at branding and staying in control of the framing. This is spot on. I wrote a joke toot yesterday about how N95 masks stop the woke mind virus. It would be so easy to use their own beliefs to get them to act better.

@writermonki @jensorensen I donāt think individual people decided anything. Itās been a well-organized, sophisticated, targeted misinfo campaign coming from many coordinated organizations since at least the 1960s. Trump is a small part of it. Weāre outmatched in the planning and tactics department.

@writermonki But that didnāt happen randomly or in a vacuum. Trump as a specific person is incidental and if he didnāt exist it would have been someone else.
@corbden And that's my point. They're just authoritarian followers of an authoritarian leader. The book, *The Authoritarians* is a good read on the subject. Our country often swings to and from authoritarian tenancies. A lot of the anti-woke stuff is a call for authoritarian indoctrination. Education and growing up in a diverse community is the best counter for authoritarianism; that's why they want segregated, religious education systems.
@corbden To try to clearify my point. They don't have any beliefs to play into. They're just playing follow the authoritarian leader. These people are completely compartmentalized. They don't understand hypocrisy. They just want to be led against the people they're afraid of.

Our strategies and tactics have millennia of human behavior and belief to counter, including messages around gender rights/wrongs passed (literally) through generations. This isnāt even the belief of āthe other side.ā We leftists also fight over what is ācommon senseā, ānaturalā, or āGod-ordained.ā
@MsUppity @writermonki @jensorensen Yeah most of the organizations I eluded to are Christian Nationalist of recent generations. But built on a long history of Christian supremacism, preceded by the Roman Empireās own cruel reign.
@corbden @writermonki @jensorensen We have plenty of smart people, strategies, and tactics. But our version of God or (worse in their eyes) our disbelief have to compete in their minds for the very earth God created for them.
God also told them that this place isnāt worth holding on to. Look to Heaven!
Add to that the ānaturalā gender supremacy stuff and, whelp, yeah, good luck with cucking their climate denialism.
@MsUppity Yes, control over the voice of God is central to most cults, and the ones that donāt have God control whatever other narrative of reality it offers. The only way through that is through the back door, not the front.
