Mx. Luna Corbden 🐸@jensorensen Seriously though, our side is terrible at branding and staying in control of the framing. This is spot on. I wrote a joke toot yesterday about how N95 masks stop the woke mind virus. It would be so easy to use their own beliefs to get them to act better.
writermonki@corbden @jensorensen they were Covid deniers because a pandemic would negatively affect Trump’s economic situation and re-election chances, so they decided it was a ‘lieberal’ hoax. 
@writermonki @jensorensen I don’t think individual people decided anything. It’s been a well-organized, sophisticated, targeted misinfo campaign coming from many coordinated organizations since at least the 1960s. Trump is a small part of it. We’re outmatched in the planning and tactics department.

@writermonki But that didn’t happen randomly or in a vacuum. Trump as a specific person is incidental and if he didn’t exist it would have been someone else.
@corbden And that's my point. They're just authoritarian followers of an authoritarian leader. The book, *The Authoritarians* is a good read on the subject. Our country often swings to and from authoritarian tenancies. A lot of the anti-woke stuff is a call for authoritarian indoctrination. Education and growing up in a diverse community is the best counter for authoritarianism; that's why they want segregated, religious education systems.
