When you’re used to just watching TikToks.
@ponysmasher That's a slippery slope. What will have next? A kind of TikTok with super long 15, 30 minute, maybe even hour long videos? Complete nonsense, who would watch that without a break on their phone. Might as well just use a TV like a pre-historic boomer at that point.
@ponysmasher I don't know about you but when i hear "Long form content" i expect something that's like an hour +.
@ponysmasher "Longer, not long." -this guy, maybe
Can't help but wonder about their opinion on this guy's interview videos.
@ponysmasher In the future everyone will be famous for 15 seconds

@ponysmasher Well, to be fair, David got known with very concise videos on the clock app, so yes. For everyone who used to only watch his videos there, this *is* the long for content.

What the commenter should've written is "I love you making longer form content like this!", which describes the situation quite well.

(That and you can now post 10 minute videos on the clock app for a while now, which do get a lot of watch time as well.)

@ponysmasher … well, not you-David, but in that video-David i.e. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCM2ra7Od2jliHB9TLPKt76w

@ponysmasher tiktok videos can be like 9 minutes long now
@ponysmasher Current YouTube video I'm watching 😅
@ponysmasher /me thinks little of a 1-hour 15-minute youtube video, lol

@ponysmasher I'd like to laugh but I'm also using a platform designed primarily for what are short text statements and I feel the irony could bite me in the ****.

So what could my solution to this, undeniably annoying, issue of finding similarity between the two?

Some may suggest it be informed and I simply laugh as my instincts suggested I should however I feel there is an alternative. To reintroduce the longer form analysis, as done by this particular videographer.

@ponysmasher me trying to finish editing a 1h video looking at this comment 👁️👄👁️

@ponysmasher My god, when I think that *three minutes* is considered "longer form" as someone that regularly makes thirty minute to nearly an hour long retrospective content...

I think I feel my bones turning to dust.

@ponysmasher I live longer posts like this! The higher word count allows you to get out a lot more of your thoughts than just 5 words.

@ponysmasher I look at this and I immediately wonder how this person would have survived in the ‘80s and ‘90s. I remember renting out ‘The Stand’ in the mid ‘90s, grabbing a bunch of snacks from the convenience store, and inviting all my friends over to watch. More than 6 hours running time. No distractions, maybe a toilet break somewhere in the middle.

In fact, I don’t think I could manage that myself these days. I wonder if our brains can get addicted to distractions?

@ponysmasher my millennial ass who just finished a 2 & a half hour video essay 🥴🤣
@ponysmasher @Gargron When you're used to a 500 character limit.
