Ask me how I learned that the button doesn’t just stop the device, it also sets off an ear piercing alarm that doesn’t clear until you reset the button.

Scissors Cut Paper...I had a UPS that could be wall-mounted if one had the tools. It was laid flat in the far corner of my workdesk instead.
One of my cats loved to lie on it cuz, warm. And sometimes did the button press.

For three small installments of $25 I can send you a device that will prevent your cat from turning on and off your PC. (Warning: Anti-Cat Device is only a bottle cap and some tape)

echarlie@sjvn my last PC I disconnected the power button from the motherboard for exactly this reason. I unfortunately failed to on my current one and suffered much annoyance.

But I quickly learned that plugging and unplugging USB devices into the top ports ("conveniently" adjacent to the power button) meant I needed to change the default behavior to counter accidental presses.

oatse@sjvn Had this happen more than once. It's a great case, ports on top for easy access and vertical card alignment is brilliant. I guess the cat-operated switches are a bonus feature? 'Time to do something else'.
