@design_law I find it really helpful when people ask me to clarify points or explain they think I am trying to say X but it could come off as Y. Sometimes I get so caught up in my own thoughts that certain things seem obvious when they aren’t.

@design_law I found it helpful to have someone outside my field give comments. That helped identify areas that would be confusing to non-experts (like a law review editor). 😉

@design_law some of this depends on my relationship with the person. I generally find high-level comments about thesis and organization the most useful. Also important references I may have omitted.

@design_law I think I’d say questions linked to passages of text rather than assertions; but suggestions (inc other sources) and (depending on stage) typos also useful
