I played DnD for the first time today and the nerd part of me is so fucking happy ๐Ÿ˜Š I've wanted to play for years and years. I'm nearly 50. It really is never too late to do something for your inner child.
@spydergrrl what were you? I am guessing... Half-elven archer
@spydergrrl Outstanding! Been playing on and off since the 90โ€™s. Get a good group to play through a good story and there are few things better. Enjoy!
@spydergrrl I was exactly 70 when I first started playing. It's never too old to do anything you really want to do.

@spydergrrl

Love hearing stories like this.

Welcome to the hobby. Have fun!

Watch out for gazebos. (Happy to explain that reference if you hadn't come across it yet)

@spydergrrl My Wife and I just started about a
Month ago as a coupleโ€™s activity, and fell down the rathole too ๐Ÿ˜„

Dndbeyond.com and heroforge.com are great resources, weโ€™ve come to learn.

@spydergrrl WELCOME ๐Ÿ’–๐ŸŽ‰
@spydergrrl Your first game is always fun! Welcome to the #ttrpg hobby. There are also so many other games than #dnd to check out too! :D

@spydergrrl

Welcome to the hobby! Embrace it! Immerse yourself in it! Think about it at 2 a.m. and feel slight signs of withdrawal after not having had a session for two weeks!

So happy to hear you've had a good start to it all!

@spydergrrl @lisamelton OMG What took you so long and congratulations! I hope you had a blast playing. What character did you go for?
@spydergrrl Nice one! I used to play when I was much younger, and now my fiancee does with a group of our friends!
@spydergrrl Our entire D&D group is middle-aged folk who wanted to play our entire lives but hadn't, excepting our original GM, who is a lifelong player. We've been at it about eight years now, and two of us (although not me yet) have now cycled through the GM chair as well!
@spydergrrl Oooh thank you, it gives me hope! And: have fun!

@spydergrrl nice!

Edit: half-orc. Hm... Magic user?

@spydergrrl I'm 43 and have always wanted to try it. Do what makes you happy!
@spydergrrl I'm glad you had a good time! I've started playing/GMing within the past year as well, at 43. It's a great thing to do at any age.
@spydergrrl welcome to the club...it has been great 4 me and the the friendship and social skills my kids learned

@spydergrrl So glad to read you had a great time!โ˜บ๏ธโ€‹

Though inner child yes, but when that'll start to combo with your current adult perspective to shape up your character and its narrative, that's gonna be even more awesome!

@spydergrrl this is the most wholesome #ttrpg thread I've seen in a while. Awesome.
@spydergrrl I'm happy for you! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ‘
@spydergrrl It's always great to hear these stories! Never let age put you off doing anything that you want to do!
Welcome to D&D!
@spydergrrl I first played in middle school and now my daughter (12) plays with her friends. She now wants to play with her 5 year old brother because she read a Reddit post about a dad who played with his 5 year old son. It's a load of fun so no matter what age you started at, it's a great thing you're playing now!
