@DopeGhoti
Honestly, the history of how we got to this point is pretty fascinating.
Just ONE element of this history: corporations back in the mid-20th century engaged in all kinds of endeavors to sway popular opinion that unchecked capitalism is the only moral system (and godly too! Billy Graham et al loudly spread the Gospel of Capitalism with the backing of corporations like General Motors. No joke). Literally the Religious Right was created by automobile and oil companies.
@VeryBadLlama
@VeryBadLlama "Goddamn commies."
*bites into a can because that's all there is on a barren landscape sacrificed to the idols of greed and stupidity*
Or space rockets. Or social media platforms.
@greeneralia @VeryBadLlama no ethical consumption under capitalism.
Amazon is amazing for disabled folks getting things. But also so many swears.

It's not just capitalism - I suggest every political system ever invented had 'someone exploited somewhere in the supply chain'.
When we think about it. It's the same as with Kingdom and the likes from a thousand and a few hundred years ago. At the time, not everyone would be able to read, so the message was spread by word of mouth
The argument to let people accepting "dudes have really really really big castles" was because he was allowed to because he's been said by a magical being, and that magical being promising eternity of bliss for being compliant.
I might get hated for having said that
@VeryBadLlama I totally agree, Janel.
PS: If believing in what you mentioned, makes you sound like a communist, then I'm a communist...
@VeryBadLlama If that makes you a "communist," then I am a communist right along with you.
But taking back the money a robber stole and giving it back to those it belongs to doesn't make you a communist, does it? 🤔
Sounds like socialism to me and is to be positively encouraged 😎

@VeryBadLlama As somebody who has sailed on normal sized sailboats, I think you are underselling how just how really uselessly big these things are.
Unrelated little detail about boats. You can all track them here. https://www.marinetraffic.com While I don't know the name of Bezos his really really (etc) big boat you can prob track it here.

Sounds like someone hates America?
@VeryBadLlama face it - we are a gluttonous society. We embrace disposable everything- dang, even the big boats are disposed of for bigger ones!
The issue- Male fixation on ‘size matters’ meets ‘I need viagra’.
It’s not capitalism, it’s exploitation.
As for the small boys with their big toys,,,
